These terms apply to phones financed through the eBurst Payments phone financing program and are part of the customer’s financing agreement.
What device payment protection is
A device-management application installed on the financed phone that allows eBurst Payments to restrict use of the phone if the plan becomes past due, and to remove all restrictions when the plan is current or paid in full.
What it can and can’t do
- Can: show payment reminders; restrict the phone to limited functions while a plan is past due; restore normal use.
- Can’t: read your messages, photos, contacts, browsing, or location history; or access your accounts.
- Emergency calls: a restricted phone can still place emergency (911) calls.
When a phone may be restricted
- Your plan is at least 10 days past due, and
- We have sent you written notice by email (and text, if you’ve agreed to texts) at least 72 hours before any restriction, stating the amount needed to bring the plan current.
Normal use is restored after the past-due amount is paid. When the plan is paid in full, the protection is permanently removed.
Your agreement
You may not remove or disable device payment protection while your plan is open. Device protection is in addition to — not in place of — your rights and our obligations under your agreement and applicable law, including laws governing debt collection.
