Who we are, how we make money, and the rules we follow.
Financing should never feel like a trick. This page answers the questions people are usually afraid to ask a lender.
Who we are
eBurst Payments is a trade name of eBurst Services Inc, a Florida corporation headquartered at 1860 SW Fountainview Blvd, Ste #1045, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986. We are part of the eBurst family of companies.
eBurst Payments is not a bank. We don’t take deposits, and plans are not insured by the FDIC. When you finance with us, eBurst Payments is the lender — we fund your plan with our own capital, and your agreement is with us.
How we make money
| Service | How we’re paid |
|---|---|
| Payment plans & phone financing | The finance charge on your plan (interest, plus any origination fee) — always shown as an APR of 18% or less and as a dollar amount before you sign. |
| Merchant services | A share of processing revenue paid to us by NMI on accounts we refer, taken from the pricing in your merchant agreement — never a separate hidden fee. |
| Add-ons & setup | Only what’s listed in a written service agreement you approve. |
| Repair shop & provider partners | Partners are not charged to receive funding for approved customers unless a fee is stated in their partner agreement. |
How funds are sent
eBurst Payments currently disburses funding by Zelle, wire transfer and PayPal only. We never send loan funds by cash, gift card, cryptocurrency or money transfer apps other than those listed, and we will never ask you to pay a fee to receive funding.
Every disbursement and every payment we receive gets a confirmation number (EPC-…). You can check any confirmation at eburstpayments.com/verify.
Licensing & rate limits
In Florida, a consumer finance license under Chapter 516, Florida Statutes, is required to make consumer loans of $25,000 or less at an interest rate greater than 18% per year. Lenders whose annual percentage rate does not exceed 18% may lend without that license.
eBurst Payments does not hold a Florida consumer finance license, and therefore never extends credit above 18% APR. Our software enforces that cap on every offer, and any origination fee is counted inside the APR.
For phone financing, we lend directly to the customer and pay the repair shop on the customer’s behalf. We do not purchase installment contracts from shops.
We comply with federal consumer-credit laws that apply to our plans, including the Truth in Lending Act (Regulation Z), the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act privacy rules, the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce (E-SIGN) Act, and the FTC Holder Rule. Business plans include the disclosures required by Florida’s Commercial Financing Disclosure Law.
Our NMI ISO relationship
eBurst Payments is an Independent Sales Organization (ISO) for NMI. As an ISO we:
- Refer merchants to NMI and help them choose between Interchange-Plus and Flat Rate pricing.
- Provide first-line customer support and help with setup and add-ons.
- Are paid a share of processing revenue by NMI on the accounts we refer.
As an ISO we do not approve merchant accounts, hold or settle merchant funds, or set card-network interchange rates. Merchant applications are submitted through NMI’s secure application and underwritten by NMI and its processing and sponsor-bank partners.
How we use Plaid
We use Plaid Inc. to verify bank accounts, balances, income and account ownership with your permission. Plaid access is read-only, you sign in to your bank inside Plaid’s window, and we never receive your banking credentials. See How We Verify for every data point we receive and why.
What we never do
- Charge more than 18% APR, or hide fees outside the APR.
- Charge prepayment penalties.
- Make payday, title or balloon-payment loans.
- Sell your personal information.
- Consider race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age (beyond legal capacity to contract), receipt of public assistance, or the exercise of consumer-credit rights in a credit decision.
- Lock a financed device without the customer’s signed consent and advance written notice.
